Former Auburn star Josh Donaldson homers, gets ejected for showing up umpire

Normally, when you see baseball players get ejected from games, it’s after a strikeout where they take issue with the umpire’s strike zone.
You hardly ever see a guy get the boot after hitting a home run, but that’s what happened to former Auburn star and current Minnesota Twins slugger Josh Donaldson on Thursday.
As you can see in the video below, Donaldson hits a home run, but gets ejected for kicking dirt all over home plate as he rounds the bases:
Josh Donaldson was mad that the pitch before this got called a strike.
So then he hit a homer, covered the plate with dirt as he came around the bases and got tossed.

Donaldson then comes back and gets his money’s worth, covering the plate in even more dirt. Apparently, he was upset with a strike call on the pitch before he socked the homer.
The former Auburn Tiger may have hit the home run to show the umpire what he thought of the strike zone, but now he’ll have to watch the rest of Thursday’s game from the clubhouse.
