Former Florida DE Carlos Dunlap sets goal for NFL record

Carlos Dunlap had a very successful season last year, recording 13.5 sacks as part of the Cincinatti Bengals defense.
This year, however, the former Florida defensive end (2007-09) has his sights set on an even bigger number.
“I want the NFL sack title,” Dunlap told NBC’s Michele Tafoya in advance of Sunday night’s preseason game between the Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars, “and that record from Michael Strahan.”
Strahan, a class of 2014 Hall of Fame inductee, holds the record for the most sacks in a single season with 22.5. To claim the record at 23 sacks, Dunlap would need to increase his 2015 mark by more than 70 percent.
Dunlap’s first crack at getting to that number will come on Sept. 11 when the Bengals open their season against the New York Jets.
