Former Florida edge rusher Justus Boone is staying in the SEC. Boone will continue his college football career at Arkansas.
Boone entered the NCAA transfer portal on Dec. 13. Just over 1 week later, Arkansas has announced him as a new Razorback signee.
Out of Sumter (South Carolina) High School, Boone was a blue-chip recruit. On the 247Sports Composite, Boone was rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in the state of South Carolina, No. 42 defensive lineman and No. 325 prospect overall in the Class of 2021. Boone signed with Florida over offers from 18 other programs, including Arkansas, South Carolina and others.
As a freshman, Boone played in just 2 games and took a redshirt, extending his eligibility.
Boone’s most productive season came in 2022 as a redshirt freshman. He played in all 13 games of UF’s 2022 campaign, making 2 starts. Boone recorded 24 total tackles that season, including 11 solo stops and 1 sack.
Boone was expected to play a key role on the Florida defense in 2023, but he was lost for the year with a torn ACL in fall camp. Back from injury, Boone played in 11 games for the Gators in 2024, making his last appearance on Nov. 23 in the win over Ole Miss. He recorded 10 total tackles, including 2 TFLs, in his redshirt junior season.
