Former Florida WR Van Jefferson to have surgery, Rams coach tells reporters

Former Florida wide receiver Van Jefferson will miss at least a few weeks of training camp and possibly the start of the 2022 NFL season, Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media shared the news from McVay on Twitter. Jefferson has been bothered by a knee issue and saw a specialist Monday.

Jefferson, a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, helped the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl in his second professional season. He had a breakout season in 2021, recording 50 catches for 802 yards and 6 touchdowns. Over 2 seasons, he has 69 catches for 1,022 yards and 7 TDs.
The Rams open the 2022 season at home against Buffalo on Sept. 8, a Thursday game on NBC.
