The Los Angeles Lakers drafted former Kentucky star Julius Randle with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
He played for the Lakers from 2014-2018, developing into a key player, sometimes as a starter and sometimes off the bench. He then played for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018-19.
Since the 2019-20 season, he’s been on the New York Knicks. After a big 2020-21 season, he has been named the NBA’s Most Improved Player:

The Knicks were a feel-good story this year, making it to the playoffs. Randle was a big part of that, starting all 71 games in which he appeared.
The Atlanta Hawks lead the Knicks 1-0 in their best-of-7 first-round playoff series. Game 2 is on Wednesday night.
