Former Oklahoma tight end Bauer Sharp is leaving the Sooners, but he’s not going to be leaving the SEC. On Friday, it was confirmed that Sharp is transferring to LSU for the 2025 season.
After reports to the move earlier in the day, LSU confirmed Sharp’s commitment Friday evening. The move returns Sharp back to the state where he began his college football career. From 2021-23, Sharp starred for FCS program Southeastern Louisiana as a versatile offensive weapon.
While with the Sooners, Sharp tallied 42 catches for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns. His best game of the season came in a loss to Ole Miss when Sharp recorded 8 catches for 53 yards and a touchdown. With Oklahoma battling multiple injuries at receiver, Sharp finished as the team leader in catches and receiving yards this season.

LSU certainly had an open need at the position following the 2024 season. Mason Taylor, one of the most consistent TEs in LSU history, is off to the NFL Draft after 546 receiving yards in 2024 and over 1,300 yards in his career.
Taylor was not the only departure at the position for the Tigers. Former 4-star prospect Ka’Morreun Pimpton has entered the transfer portal in this cycle.
Sharp at least addresses part of that need and should step into a crucial role heading into the 2025 season.
