Former Tennessee QB Will McBride has a new college football home.
The ex-Vols signal caller announced Wednesday night that he would be transferring to FCS level Lamar University to finish his career. Since he’s transferring down a level, he’ll be eligible to play in 2019. Lamar plays at Texas A&M next season.
McBride played in three games during the 2017 season, completing 17 of 40 passes for 152 yards, one touchdown and two INTs. He didn’t appear in any games in 2018.
The QB is from League City, Texas, and Lamar University is located in Beaumont, Texas. So, he’s headed back home.
Excited to announce I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Lamar University! #WeAreLU

Also want to take the time to say I REALLY APPRECIATE the support from EVERYONE but specifically Vol Nation. Tennessee is a special place and the tradition is unmatched. I learned so much in Knoxville. I’m certainly going to miss my brothers repping the orange and white. #VFL
