The Tennessee Volunteers pulled off a couple of impressive upsets this year, beating Auburn on the road and Kentucky at home.

However, they came up just short of qualifying for a bowl game, losing a win-and-you’re-in finale at Vanderbilt to fall to the Commodores for the third year in a row.

Now, with starting QB Jarrett Guarantano returning to the team and highly touted commit Brandon Maurer entering the mix next season, 2018 third-string QB Will McBride has announced his intentions to transfer:

McBride played in three games last season, completing 17 of 40 passes for 152 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He didn’t appear in any games this season.

Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but he clearly feels he doesn’t have a place in Knoxville next year.
