Former Tennessee running back John Kelly has reportedly found a new home in the NFL. After being waived by the Los Angeles Rams, Kelly will reportedly sign a practice squad deal with the Cleveland Browns.
Kelly left Tennessee after his junior season in 2017 to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He was selected No. 176 overall in the sixth round by the Rams. He appeared in 8 games for the Rams (4 each season). After 27 carries for 74 yards in his rookie season, Kelly saw just 3 carries last season for 9 yards.
As part of the league’s COVID-19 measures, the NFL is allowing each team to add two players from the practice squad onto the active roster for any game to expand to a 55-man roster.
