Former UGA QB that called Florida-Missouri game for ESPN calls out Dan Mullen for instigating brawl

Florida defeated Missouri 41-17 on Saturday, but the big story was a wild halftime brawl that took place at midfield in the aftermath of a late hit on Gators quarterback Kyle Trask. Three players — Antwuan Powell and Zachary Carter for Florida and Tre Williams for Mizzou — were ejected for their roles in the fight, while every player on the field when it occurred was hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
In the booth for the SEC Network was former Georgia signal caller Hutson Mason, who shared his thoughts on the scuffle on Twitter on Sunday morning.
“The hit on Trask was worthy of a personal foul but wasn’t a dirty play,” the former Georgia quarterback said of the initial incident that led to the fight.
He also implicated Gators head coach Dan Mullen, saying that “Mullen instigated things and even escalated the situation by storming the field”.
Florida and Missouri issued a joint statement on Sunday morning addressing the fight. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what further punishment the SEC decides to bestow on the players that were thrown out of Saturday’s contest.
