Gaston Moore has entered the transfer portal, according to a report.

That’s per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who notes that Tennessee defensive back Christian Harrison has also gone into the portal and is expected to leave Knoxville.

Moore began his career at Central Florida back in 2020. However, he transferred to Tennessee before the 2021 campaign and has largely been a reserve quarterback over the past 4 seasons with the Vols. He’s played sparingly but did have a career-high 27 pass attempts this season as he relived Nico Iamaleava on a number of occasions.

During his career in Knoxville, Moore completed 26-of-44 passes for 273 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. His largest stretch of playing time (vs. an FBS opponent) came this season in the second half of the Mississippi State game when he replaced an injured Iamaleava. He completed 5-of-8 passes for 38 yards in that win.

Moore would have been a reserve again in Tennessee next season with Iamaleava set to return for his 3rd season in Knoxville. Instead, Gaston Moore will transfer and seek additional playing time elsewhere.
