Georgia 2022 signee named Maxwell Football Club’s High School Defensive Player of the Year

Georgia is bringing in the nation’s No. 3 overall 2022 recruiting class, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
A big part of that elite class is 5-star DL Mykel Williams, the second-highest rated player in the Bulldogs’ incoming class.
On Thursday, it was announced that Williams had been named the National High School Defensive Player of the Year by the Maxwell Football Club:

That’s a prestigious honor for Williams, a Georgia native, as he prepares to embark on his career with the Bulldogs.
Williams is the No. 21 overall player in the 2022 class, the No. 5 defensive lineman and the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of Georgia, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
