Georgia has picked up a key commitment from a former Oregon short-term signee. 4-star freshman Bryson Beaver is committing to Georgia, according to On3.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Beaver originally committed to Oregon in June and enrolled in December but elected for the transfer portal after the Ducks nabbed former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola. Another potential factor in Beaver leaving Oregon is the return of Ducks starting quarterback Dante Moore.

Georgia lost 5-star quarterback commit Jared Curtis to a late flip the week of the Early Signing Period, so this re-adds some depth in the unit.

Coming out of high school, Beaver was regarded by 247Sports as the No. 32 prospect from California and the nation’s No. 15 quarterback. In terms of the 247Sports Composite for transfers, Beaver is the No. 29 quarterback and No. 454 player.

Meanwhile, Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton didn’t declare for the 2026 NFL Draft. Stockton passed for 2,894 yards, 24 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, with the nation’s No. 6 QBR (84.9). With Stockton running the offense, Georgia finished with a 12-2 record, including winning the SEC championship and reaching the College Football Playoff.

Georgia’s season ended with a 39-34 loss vs. SEC rival Ole Miss in the quarterfinals at the Sugar Bowl.
