Georgia won’t be getting outfielder Dylan Goldstein back yet after a U.S. District Court judge denied him a temporary restraining order on Wednesday afternoon.

The decision by Judge Tripp Self was made 1 day after Goldstein’s lawyers filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the NCAA that would allow Goldstein another season of eligibility at Georgia because of a season spent at a junior college.

After denying the temporary restraining order, Self said that the Bulldogs are only 5 games into a “very long season.”

A hearing on a preliminary injunction was set by Self for Tuesday in Athens.

“I’m not worried about one particular game, but we are going to make a decision as quickly as we can,” Self said in a statement.

Goldstein started his collegiate baseball career at Chipola College in Marianna, Fla., before transferring to Florida Atlantic after 1 season. He would then transfer to Georgia ahead of the 2024 season. But Goldstein is now looking to earn another season of eligibility with the Bulldogs due to him playing JUCO baseball during his freshman year.

His lawyers want Goldstein eligible this weekend and are asking for a hearing.

Last season at Georgia, Goldstein appeared in 52 games and started 41 of them. He split time as a right fielder and a DH. Goldstein hit .273 with 11 doubles and 1 triple to go with 12 home runs and 43 RBI.
