The No. 10 Georgia Bulldogs got things back on track this past Saturday on the gridiron with their dominant win over the Kentucky Wildcats, but things on the recruiting trail appear to have taken an interesting turn over the weekend.

According to Georgia recruiting insider Jeff Sentell, one of the Dawgs’ top commits for the 2026 cycle is reportedly no longer a member of his high school team.

Per Sentell, 4-star running back and Peach State native Jae Lamar is no longer a part of the Colquitt County football team, which is currently in the hunt for a 6A state title.

Sentell’s report doesn’t provide any details on what led to Lamar’s departure from the high school powerhouse in his reporting, just that he’s no longer with the team. Colquitt County head coach Sean Calhoun confirmed the news to Dawg Nation.

Lamar, currently rated the 12th-best running back in the 2026 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite, has been committed to Georgia since June. He chose the Dawgs over other top programs, including Miami, Clemson, and Auburn.

It’s not yet clear what his reported departure from the Colquitt County team means for his commitment to Georgia. Lamar will be eligible to sign with the Bulldogs during the Early Signing Period in December.
