Georgia hopes to have defensive back KJ Bolden available against Auburn on Saturday in the latest edition of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.
According to the latest SEC availability report, things aren’t looking good. Bolden, who was listed as questionable on Wednesday, has been downgraded to doubtful after suffering a lower-leg injury against Alabama.
Bolden’s absence would be another blow to a Bulldogs team already missing a key offensive player. Running back Chauncey Bowens has been declared out against the Tigers. He suffered a calf injury against Alabama and was forced to leave that one early. Bowens has 35 carries for 124 yards and six touchdowns on the ground and has 10 catches for 132 yards and a score.
Along with Bowens, wide receivers Thomas Blackshear and Isiah Canion are out. The Bulldogs will also be missing linebacker Amaris Williams and safety Tyriq Green.
There is some good news, though. The Dawgs will have Nate Frazier back in the fold for the first time since Week 5 against Vanderbilt. Frazier has 26 carries for 211 yards and five TDs in limited action this season.
Georgia, ranked No. 1 in the country, has owned the series against Auburn for the better part of a decade. The Bulldogs go into Saturday on an eight-game winning streak against the Tigers.
