Georgia is back in the mix to produce the top recruiting class in the country for the class of 2026, and the Bulldogs landed one of the top running backs in the entire country.
On Wednesday, Kirby Smart and his staff landed a commitment from Jae Lamar, an elite in-state prospect out of Colquitt County High School. Lamar was also considering Auburn, Miami, Clemson and FSU in his final group.
In the end, Georgia wins out for one of the best RBs available in its own backyard:
Listed at 6-feet and 205 pounds, Lamar is rated as a 4-star recruit and the 8th RB nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 12 player in Georgia and the 107th overall player in the country, regardless of position.
Here’s a look at what Lamar brings to the table, via his high school highlights on Hudl:
The addition of Lamar brings Georgia up to 21 hard commitments for the cycle in another elite group for Smart and his coaching staff. The group is headlined by 5-star QB Jared Curtis, the top QB in the country, and includes 7 of the top 115 prospects in the entire country.
So far, Georgia’s recruiting class ranks 4th in the nation per the team composite, but there is plenty of time for the Bulldogs to push for the No. 1 overall spot.
