The Georgia Bulldogs are set to lose a veteran pass rusher, as junior edge rusher Elo Modozie reportedly has entered the transfer portal.

Modozie, according to On3, is hitting the portal with a “do not contact” tag attached, which could mean his future destination has already been determined.

The 6-foot-4, 248-pound linebacker from St. Augustine, Fla., spent his first two seasons at Army from 2023-24, recording 41 total tackles (21 for loss) and 7½ sacks before transferring to Georgia. Modozie notched eight tackles (five for loss) in 2025 for the Bulldogs.

Modozie is the 12th Georgia player and eighth Bulldog defender to choose the transfer portal in this cycle.

Georgia (12-2) captured the Southeastern Conference championship by smacking Alabama 28-7 in the title game in Atlanta. The Bulldogs earned the No. 3 seed in the 12-team College Football Playoff but lost to No. 6 seed Ole Miss 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl. That Rebels win avenged a 43-35 regular-season loss to Georgia on Oct. 18.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart, the dean of SEC coaches entering 2026, is 117-21 overall and 69-12 in SEC play over 10 seasons in Athens. A former Georgia player, Smart has also guided the Bulldogs to back-to-back national titles in 2021-22 and four SEC titles.
