Georgia receiver drops would be go-ahead touchdown pass vs. Alabama

Georgia and Alabama have provided some classic games over the years, and Saturday night’s tilt in Athens was nothing different. The Crimson Tide dominated the first half, but the Bulldogs made the adjustments in the half and got right back in the game.
Trailing by three in the third quarter, the Bulldogs were around midfield when an opportunity for a big play happened. Quarterback Gunner Stockton looked deep for freshman receiver Talyn Taylor who got behind the Alabama secondary. However, the freshman was unable to pull the ball in, and the Bulldogs were forced to punt soon after.
If Taylor was able to complete the catch, it would have given the Bulldogs their first lead of the game. He isn’t one of the go to receivers for Georgia, as he had only 2 catches for 28 yards entering the game.
Drops hurt both teams on Saturday night, as Alabama superstar receiver Ryan Williams dropped one in the first half that would have been a touchdown as well.
The two teams play against each other often in SEC Championship games, but the matchup on Saturday night was the first time they’ve played in Athens since 2015. The way these teams played on Saturday night, we could see another potentially rematch in Atlanta in December.
