Georgia safety KJ Bolden will spend the remainder of the Bulldogs’ game against Florida on the sideline. That’s after the star sophomore was ejected early in the second quarter after a targeting call against him was upheld.

As Gators wide receiver Dallas Wilson made a catch at the Bulldogs’ 20-yard line, Bolden went in to make the tackle. The officiating crew, however, whistled Bolden for targeting, and the call was upheld after video review.

Here’s a video of the call against Bolden that saw him tossed:

The Bulldogs entered Saturday’s game thin at the safety position with Kyron Jones already out with a foot injury. Bolden, meanwhile, started the day with 33 tackles, third-most on the team. He has also recorded an interception. Now, the Bulldogs will play the remainder of the game without him.

It’s been a slow first half for Georgia, which was heavily favored to win this one. But the Dawgs and Gators were knotted at 10-10 at the halftime break in Jacksonville. A Bulldogs loss would not only end a four-game winning streak against the Gators, but it would also do some damage to Georgia’s College Football Playoff hopes.

Georgia vs. Florida is on ABC.
