Georgia football is set to debut white uniforms early this upcoming season on September 12th against Western Kentucky.
The uniforms feature white helmets, jerseys and pants for the first time in school history, according to a release on Wednesday. The game is set to start at 12:45 p.m. ET
KJ Bolden and Lawson Luckie were among those asked to model the jerseys, according to OnlineAthens. Here’s what Bolden said when he first saw the jerseys.
“I thought I got in trouble or something,โ Bolden said. โThey took us to the room and I saw them. I really didnโt want to believe it at first. I thought he was just trolling the team. He actually was serious. Thatโs definitely going to bring a spark to the stadium that day. Itโs going to be an electric week, too.โ
Here’s Luckie’s response:
“At the end of the day, itโs just a different uniform weโre wearing,” Luckie said. “But itโs cool. Especially being able to do it in Sanford Stadium. I think it will bring some extra juice for the guys running out of the tunnel and I think the fans will love it and I think thatโs what itโs really about.โ
