Greg McElroy considers the possibilities if Alabama can play well for 60 minutes
While Alabama has been good for most of the season outside of a loss to Texas, the Crimson Tide have struggled to put together full performances.
That was evident the last 2 weeks. Against Arkansas, Alabama went up big in the first half, but had to fight off a late comeback and ended up winning by just 3. Against Tennessee, it was the opposite. The Vols got out to a hot start, but Alabama got things together and ended up winning.
On Sunday, Greg McElroy discussed whether or not Alabama is capable of playing a complete game. If the Tide can do that, they have the chance to be one of the best team’s in the country.
“If we could get the second half version of Alabama for 60 minutes, it’d be amazing,” McElroy said. “I think they could go with anybody if they played like that all the time, but we have not seen it just yet. Credit to Nick Saban and his staff, though, cause they were a step ahead of Josh Heupel and the Volunteers in this one. Got hot in the second half, felt like Milroe played a little bit better in the second half, the run game got going, Jase McClellan started to settle in as well. That was a really good, resilient performance from the Crimson Tide, getting revenge from last year’s loss.”
Alabama has a chance to figure things out with the bye week this weekend, and they’ll need to do so fast. The Tide will face LSU to start out the November slate, and the game will be extremely important for Alabama.
