Gus Malzahn is one of the most interesting coaches in the SEC, despite his penchant for less-than-animated quotes.ย With another season of expectation on the way for the Tigers, Malzahn took the floor with plenty of questions to answer duringย Monday’s SEC teleconference.
How much of the outside hype do you consider?
โInternally there is an excitement. Thatโs what matters.โ
Malzahn on Jarrett Stidham:
โFirst of all, he has to win the job. Thereโs nothing like game experience, getting out there and playing. Iโve been pleased with his attitude and work ethic.โ
On early signing day:
โThere will be a learning curve. Iโm concerned for the high school coaches, some teams go deep into playoffs.โ
On Kyle Davis, who missed all of spring camp after taking a leave:
โWe expect him to be back this summer, and we expect it to be fairly soon.โ
When asked on recent social media post by Kyle Davis indicating he was already back on Auburnโs campus:
โLike I said, we expect him back fairly soon.โ
On freshman Markaviest Bryantโs hand injury:
โHe should be fine once gets on campus.โ
On Chip Lindseyโs hiring at OC:
โIโve spent time with him, heโs been here before. Heโs a very good QB developer. Kinda all of the above.โ
On Rawleigh Williams:
โNot just myself but our coaches and players really hate to see that. We wish him the best.โ
