Auburn is back on track after a 4-game losing skid, picking up back-to-back wins over Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.

Now the Tigers are set to face off against Vanderbilt as they look to secure bowl eligibility in Hugh Freeze’s first season at the helm.

Heading into the final 3 games of the season, Freeze believes his team has picked up some momentum over the past few games.

“I thought we’ve played with some confidence and swagger the past few weeks,” Freeze said in his press conference Monday.

Freeze’s offense has found some success in the past 2 wins after struggling to start the season. On Monday, he further clarified the play-calling collaboration.

He said that he and offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery split play-calling duties, working together given the scenario.

“It’s a collaboration,” Freeze said. “Monty is calling his share too. It’s a partnership. It’s depends on how things are going.”

Last game against Vanderbilt, Freeze moved away from the dual-quarterback system, using just Payton Thorne rather than a combination of Thorne and Robby Ashford. It’s unclear whether Freeze will look to Ashford moving forward, but Thorne seemed to do just fine on his own on Saturday.

Now Auburn gets ready to face an Arkansas team that is coming off a big win over Florida. The Tigers are hoping to continue their offensive success this weekend.
