Ole Miss’ official response to its second Notice of Allegations involving Hugh Freeze’s program was released earlier this week and now the official individual responses from Freeze and former Rebel assistant Barney Farrar, who worked under the title assistant A.D./high school and junior college relations from December 2011 – November 2016, have been released.

Freeze’s response is 91 pages, while Farrar’s response is only 29 pages in length.

The Ole Miss program has been accused of 21 total violations, including 15 Level I violations — the most serious in nature, by the NCAA. The NCAA is expected to review the responses over the next 60 days before a hearing before the Committee on Infractions takes place, likely in September.

Farrar’s attorney, Bruse Loyd, has been very public recently leading up to the release of these documents. Loyd claims Ole Miss is attempting to throw Farrar ‘under the bus’ while also indicating the charges against the school are ‘as close to the death penalty as you can get’ when describing the case against the program.

Freeze’s future has also been called into question following the release of Ole Miss’ response and leading up to the hearing with the NCAA COI.
