A week after dropping a brutal overtime loss against Kentucky, the No. 22 LSU Tigers welcomed Kamario Taylor and the No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs to Death Valley for a pivotal top-25 showdown in Baton Rouge.

Entering the game with 2 losses already on their record, Lane Kiffin and the Bayou Bengals had very little margin for error against the Dawgs if they wanted to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive.

Knowing this, LSU came out firing on offense, jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead on a Sam Leavitt touchdown pass, then extending it shortly after with a dominant 27-yard catch-and-run from star wideout Jackson Harris.

A California native, Harris made the move to LSU this past offseason after a dominant year with Hawaii in 2025 and 2 productive campaigns with the Stanford Cardinal prior to that.

He quickly emerged as one of Leavitt’s favorite targets in the first half of the 2026 season, entering the game against MSU second in receiving yards (371) and first in receiving touchdowns (3) among all LSU pass catchers.

His ability to make contested catches and power through contact has been a massive advantage for Kiffin and the Tigers’ offense, and that was put on full display during this dominant run to the end zone.
