Florida will have a new starting punter next season as Jacob Finn has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Finn notched 26 punts for the Gators this season for 1,203 yards, good for a 46.3 yards per punt average. Despite his starting status in Gainesville this season, Finn was a walk-on with the program.
The punter’s decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal was first reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Finn was a redshirt senior last season with Florida but is still eligible to compete in 2021 due to the NCAA’s decision to give all players a free season of eligibility in 2020.
With Finn moving on, look for Australian Jeremy Crawshaw, who signed with Florida in the 2020 recruiting cycle, to get the first crack at landing the punting duties in Gainesville next season.
