Jalen Milroe was in the mood to celebrate on Saturday night.

After completing his on-field postgame interview with ABC, Milroe ran up to some Alabama students seated field-level for high-fives. Michael Casagrande of AL.com captured the moment that also played on the Bryant-Denny Stadium video boards.

Milroe has a lot to celebrate. Alabama defeated a Georgia team ranked No. 2 thanks in large part to the QB’s performance. And Milroe’s Heisman Trophy stock surged.

Milroe finished 27-of-33 passing for 374 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also rushing 16 times for 117 yards and 2 TDs. The only blemish on Milroe’s monster stat line was an interception in the 2nd quarter.

In Saturday’s instant classic, Milroe will be remembered for leading Alabama to an early 28-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. Milroe was part of 3 of the first 4 scores, rushing for a 7-yard TD to break the scoring ice, throwing a 16-yard TD to Jamarion Miller and rushing for a 36-yard score to extend the lead to 27-0 before the PAT.

Each team in Saturday’s instant classic scored 5 touchdowns. Alabama had the only safety and the only field goal. After Georgia’s stunning comeback to a 34-33 lead late in the 4th quarter, it was up to Milroe and company.

Ryan Williams, Milroe’s favorite target on Saturday night, proved he had 1 more big play in him with the 75-yard TD reception that fans will never forget. At the end of the night, Milroe was responsible for nearly 500 yards of total offense (374 passing, 117 rushing).
