Ja’Marr Chase isn’t worried about Joe Burrow. On Sunday, Burrow had an uncharacteristically rough outing in the Cincinnati Bengals’ Week 1 game. The former LSU quarterback threw 4 interceptions and had a fumble that was lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After the Bengals’ heartbreaking 23-20 overtime loss to the Steelers, Chase spoke to reporters. He was asked what he said to Burrow.
Chase noted that he hasn’t seen a game like that from Burrow at the college or pro level.
Ja’Marr Chase on teammate Joe Burrow’s struggles (5 TOs/4 INTs): “I’ve never seen him throw that – what did he have? 5 (4)? I didn’t get on him. I told him, ‘let’s go.’ Keep being the leader. He’s the QB. I would want him to do the same for me if I was down.” #Bengals

Despite the turnovers, Burrow was still 33-of-53 passing for 338 yards and 2 touchdowns. Chase, Burrow’s longtime favorite target, had 10 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown on 16 targets.
Burrow and the Bengals look to bounce in Week 2 at the Dallas Cowboys.
