Jameson Williams is on the road to recovery only one week after ACL surgery to repair a knee injury he suffered in the national championship game earlier this month.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Alabama star receiver is, “feeling awesome. Ready to get down this road.” His agent, meanwhile, said Williams is ahead of schedule following a clear tear of the ACL.

Williams led Crimson Tide receivers with 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns in his lone season after he transferred from Ohio State. He injured his left knee in the national championship game loss to Georgia, but is still projected as a likely first-round pick. Williams is most known for his big plays. He hauled in an Alabama single-season record 4 touchdowns of 70-plus yards, a mark that led the country.
Williams has long maintained a positive outlook since the injury.
“Wish it could have ended differently but it’s nothing but up from here,” Williams, who also returned two kicks for touchdowns, wrote on Instagram.
