Georgia has landed the top quarterback recruit in the country for its 2026 recruiting class.

Jared Curtis verbally committed to play for Kirby Smart‘s program on Monday afternoon. Curtis announced his decision in a live ceremony and also posted a commitment video on social media.

Out of Nashville (Tennessee) Christian School, Curtis is listed as measuring over 6-3 and 225 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Curtis is the No. 1 QB and No. 2 player overall in the Class of 2026.

As expected, there was lots of interest in Curtis. During his recruitment, Curtis has collected 40 scholarship offers. Alabama, Colorado, Arkansas, Florida State, Auburn, Miami, Florida, Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, UCLA, Tennessee, USC, Texas, Washington and Texas A&M were among the programs to show interest.

This is not the first time Curtis has committed to Georgia. He verbally pledged on March 23, 2024, but decommitted from the Bulldogs on Oct. 17. For Monday’s decision, Curtis was only considering Georgia and Oregon, with Smart winning out over former assistant Dan Lanning.

With Curtis back in the fold, Georgia has 8 verbal commitments for its 2026 recruiting class. Fans can get a preview of what Curtis brings to Athens by watching his highlights in the video below:
