Texas A&M freshman running back Jay Bradford won’t make the 105-man roster due to health reasons. The family has requested privacy on the matter.

โ€œThe health and well-being of Jay is the only thing that matters,โ€ A&M coach Kevin Sumlin said Monday, via the Houston Chronicle. โ€œHe is still part of our team but just unable to participate in preseason drills. Jay and his family know that they can depend on us through this process.โ€

The Splendora, Texas, native is a former four-star prospect in the Aggies’ class of 2015, and he’s a speedster, boasting high school track titles in both the long jump and the 100 meters.

Tra Carson is the Aggies’ top back returning, and because Bradford won’t be available, Texas A&M may need Brandon Williams to take more carries than anticipated. Williams will play cornerback this season, too.
