Cornerback Jaycee Horn missed Carolina Panthers practice on Wednesday after being in a car accident, according to the team. The former South Carolina star was by himself in his car when the accident happened on the corner of Mint and Moorhead Streets.

However, thankfully no one involved in the accident had to be transported by emergency medical personnel. The Panthers’ medical staff evaluated Horn and it was determined he’d sit out the joint practice that includes the Cleveland Browns.

To add to the positive news, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed Horn is on the field watching practice.

Horn inked a $100 million contract extension this offseason, which for a period of time made him the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback. The Panthers drafted Horn with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Horn is coming off a season in which he amassed 68 total tackles, 13 pass deflections, and an interception in a career-high 15 starts en route to earning his first Pro Bowl nod. In 2022, Horn tallied 53 total tackles, 7 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions.

During his 3 seasons at South Carolina, Horn recorded 101 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 23 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.
