Jayden Daniels led LSU to a division title in 2022, but Saturday night, it appeared an injury could affect his availability for the upcoming SEC Championship Game against No. 1 Georgia.

Daniels was injured on a 2-point conversion attempt in the loss to Texas A&M. After the game, Kelly said that Daniels, who returned to the game after visiting the injury tent, was dealing with an ankle injury.

Sunday, Kelly spoke to reporters previewing the conference title game. When asked about his starting quarterback, Kelly said that Daniels’ ankle exam went well and the staff remains optimistic that he’ll be able to play against the Bulldogs in Atlants.

Daniels, a transfer from Arizona State, is 238-of-347 passing for 2,566 yards, 15 touchdowns and 2 interceptions this season. He has also rushed 174 times for 824 yards and 11 TDs.
