Jedd Fisch throws headset following ’embarrassing’ first half vs. Washington State

Jedd Fisch is not happy with the way his Washington Huskies finished the half against rival Washington State Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies lead Wazzu 10-0, but had an opportunity to go up 3 possessions with the 2nd half kickoff coming their way. Instead, Washington State held firm at the goal line, stuffing Huskies RB Jayden Limar short of the end zone. This prompted Fisch to spike his headset into the turf out of frustration.

Fisch was interviewed by NBC Sports before heading to the locker room. Here’s his evaluation of Washington’s first half:
“I’m not very happy about it,” Fisch said. “We have a half yard to gain and we can’t get a half a yard, we don’t deserve to get in the end zone… We gotta run the ball a lot better than we’re running the ball, we’ve gotta hit passes we’re not hitting. We gotta continue to play great defense, but we gotta score some points. It’s embarrassing right now.”
The Huskies have posted a combined 78 rushing yards with a rushing touchdown by QB Demond Williams Jr. That sounds good, but Limar and fellow running back Quaid Carr haven’t fared as well sitting at a combined 54 yards on 12 attempts.
The Apple Cup has been a fun one so far. Let’s see if Wazzu can fight their way back into it as we enter the 2nd half.
