Tennessee suffers another decommitment following Jeremy Pruitt’s firing

Tennessee suffered another decommitment this week in the wake of Jeremy Pruitt’s firing on Rocky Top, but this time, it’s the program’s class of 2022 that’s taken a hit.
In recent days, the Volunteers program has suffered several defections from the 2021 recruiting cycle as four-star receiver Jordan Mosley and three-star lineman Colby Smith have publicly decommitted from Tennessee while the highest-rated prospect to sign with the program, Dylan Brooks, is reportedly asking for his release from the school following Pruitt’s firing.
Now comes the first decommitment from Tennessee’s 2022 class as Jimmy Scott of St. Francis High School has issued a statement announcing his decision.
“I have made the decision to decommit from the University of Tennessee, and re-open my recruitment back up 100 percent,” Scott wrote. ” I would like to give a huge thank you to the Tennessee coaching staff, for believing in me and recruiting me. I will forever be grateful for that.”
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Scott was the lone prospect committed to Tennessee’s 2022 recruiting class. He was rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 26 strongside defensive end prospect in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Scott currently holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, West Virginia, Arizona State and Boston College, among others.
