Jeremy Pruitt on Vols’ Tuesday practice: ‘I came off the field ticked off today’

The Tennessee Volunteers have a lot of work ahead of them if they’re going to improve on last year’s 0-8 record in SEC play.
And, according to new head coach Jeremy Pruitt, Tuesday’s spring practice session didn’t exactly help matters. In fact, Pruitt said in his press conference that he was unhappy with his team’s performance.
Pruitt said he came off the field angry, and it sounds like it was the defense that drew most of his ire:
Jeremy Pruitt: I came off the field ticked off today. I’m not sure if that’s because the whole team was bad or just ‘cause the offense kicked our tail at the end.

The Vols will take on West Virginia in Charlotte to kick off the 2018 season in Charlotte, and Pruitt said there are still plenty of spots available for the Week 1 roster:
#Vols football coach Jeremy Pruitt: We still don't know who's going on the bus with us to Charlotte and who isn't.

After the season the Vols had in 2017, the players probably need a little bit of tough love. Pruitt seems to be dishing that out in spades this spring, so we’ll have to see if it translates into motivated players.
