The Kentucky Wildcats were without star PG Ashton Hagans for Saturday’s regular-season finale at Florida.
While the Wildcats won on a tip-in by EJ Montgomery, it was a bit tougher without Hagans around running the offense. It was reported before the game that he was away from the team for personal reasons.
After the 71-70 victory, coach John Calipari said it’s basically a mental health break for the young point guard:
Calipari said "hopefully what you'll see is an inspired young man" when Hagans returns. https://t.co/0QNvknhb0p

However, in some good news, Calipari said he does think Hagans will be back for the SEC Tournament in Nashville next week:
Calipari on if Hagans will be back for the SEC Tournament: "I would fully expect him to be, but I haven't talked to him. Probably talk to him Monday sometime."

It has been a bit of a rough month for Hagans. But, the Wildcats will need him if they’re going to make deep postseason runs. We’ll see if he’s back next week.
