Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers are going to have to dig deep to bounce back in Week 4 after the crushing 44-41 loss to Georgia in overtime on Saturday.

The team will be back in action against UAB on Saturday, but there are some questions about the health of the defensive line position.

Heupel was asked about that position on Monday, and he provided an update on Jaxson Moi and Daevin Hobbs.

“Jaxson Moi, day-to-day,” Heupel said. “Hobbs continues to do a really good job in his rehab. How fast that progresses here, I can’t answer that here today.”

With this being a non-conference game, there won’t be any formal availability reports issued by the Volunteers. Moi missed the game against Georgia, and Hobbs has been dealing with a stress foot fracture all year.

Hobbs was the No. 57 player in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and getting him back could be a huge addition for the Volunteers.

Tennessee and UAB kick off at 12:45 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
