Julian Sayin was forced out of Ohio State’s titanic Big Ten matchup with Indiana on Saturday in Bloomington, and that was enough of a headliner in a game featuring 2 top-5 teams.

But it wasn’t just that for the junior quarterback who finished 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting last season. With Luke Fahey replacing Sayin, there was also the gruesome reality for Buckeyes fans with Sayin emerging from the locker room with his right throwing arm in a sling.

The FOX cameras were all over that with 3:35 remaining and the 4th-ranked Buckeyes hanging on for dear life to a 19-15 lead over No. 5 Indiana. Yes, Ohio State held on to win by that same score to avoid a second loss and hand the rival Hoosiers their first loss since the end of the 2024 season.

Buckeyes fans can breathe easier because Ohio State won. But the situation with Sayin will be something to watch very closely now, with Saying walking regularly from the locker room but with that arm in a sling and his future status unknown at this time.

Ohio State won, but it won’t want to remember seeing its star quarterback like this near the end of a great victory:

The result of the Ohio State-Indiana game is sure to greatly affect the College Football Playoff selections in December. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the best odds to make the Playoff as the Buckeyes and Hoosiers fought to the finish on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington:
