Kalen DeBoer did not shy away from his excitement about Alabama‘s defensive line when he was asked about the defensive front in 2026.

The Crimson Tide defensive line lost a lot this offseason. Nose tackle Tim Keenan III and LT Overton are out of college eligibility, and Kelby Collins, James Smith, Keon Keeley, and Jordan Renaud entered the transfer portal. However, the Tide are bringing back 6 defensive linemen. They also added four from the transfer portal, and that’s not even counting the 5 they recruited in their 2026 class.

“I’m fired up about that group. I’m fired up about what those guys bring, both the returners and also the newcomers that are coming in,” Kalen DeBoer said. “I think we got longer. We got bigger. I think we got more athletic. I think we got some guys, both in the program and guys that have come into it, that really care. Not just about what they can do personally for themselves, but also care about being a great teammate.

As of Jan. 28, the Crimson Tide will have the following defensive linemen for 2026: Jeremiah Beaman, Isaia Faga, Fatutoa Henry, Edric Hill, Steve Bolo Mboumoua, London Simmons, Terrance Green, Devan Thompkins, Kedrick Bingley-Jones, Caleb Smith, and incoming freshmen Jamarion Matthews, Nolan Wilson, Kamhariyan Johnson, Malique’ Franklin, and Corey Howard.
