Mississippi State’s Kamario Taylor appeared to suffer a gruesome leg injury in the closing minutes of Mississippi State‘s loss to Wake Forest on Friday night.

Taylor was looking to make a play with under 2 minutes to go when he took a low hit from a Wake Forest defender and appeared to sustain a serious leg injury. Here’s a look at the play in question:

However, Taylor has reportedly dodged any significant injury. He reportedly only had a “little limp” as he walked to the bus after the game. Here’s a photo of Taylor walking without crutches or assistance:

This is a huge break for Mississippi State and for Taylor. The young quarterback had an exciting 2026 campaign that saw him account for 388 passing yards and 395 rushing yards. Most of that production came in Mississippi State’s final 5 games of the season.

The loss to Wake Forest was a disappointing end to a solid Year 2 under Jeff Lebby. The Bulldogs finished the year at 5-8. They qualified for a bowl game after several bowl-eligible teams declined postseason opportunities.

Mississippi State will look to make another jump forward in 2026 with Lebby and Taylor leading the way.
