Kamario Taylor and Mississippi State have had a hot start to the 2026 season, as the Bulldogs are 4-1 entering Week 7 against LSU. A big reason why has been the play of Kamario Taylor, who has thrown for 1,450 yards, 17 touchdowns and only four interceptions. However, in the loss to Alabama in Week 5, Taylor was forced out of the game while dealing with a foot injury.

With a big road game looming next week, ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting that Taylor’s status for that game is ‘in flux’.

Expect to hear more later this week when SEC availability reports are released. The first reports will come out on Wednesday.

Taylor became one of the biggest talking points after a spectacular start to the year. He has tremendous velocity when throwing the ball, and he can make the throws that NFL scouts love. Hailing from Mississippi, he has made it a point that he wants to be a key reason why the Bulldogs become a contender in the SEC.

The schedule continues to be difficult for the Bulldogs, as they play Oklahoma and Texas in the next two games after LSU. For the Bulldogs to have a chance in those games, they will have to get Taylor back and healthy.
