Kentucky RB CJ Baxter didn’t see the field in the Wildcats’ 21-13 win over Oklahoma, despite dressing out. Without the Texas transfer, the Wildcats ran for only 72 yards.
It looks like Baxter won’t be sidelined for long, though. After being listed as probable on Wednesday’s initial SEC availability report for Week 8’s game against Vanderbilt, Thursday’s update saw him removed from it altogether.

According to Kentucky Sports Radio, Baxter has been dealing with a hamstring injury. Despite that, he’s been terrific for the Wildcats. He has 87 carries for 484 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has seven catches for 62 yards. Baxter’s 149 yards against South Alabama in Week 4 were a career high and marked his second career game over 100 yards. Two weeks later against LSU, he eclipsed the 100-yard plateau again.
Three Kentucky players were listed as out on Wednesday’s availability report: linebacker Antwan Smith and defensive backs Grant Grayton and Jaden Smith. Linebacker Sam Greene, initially listed as doubtful, was downgraded to out on Thursday’s report, along with wide receiver Nic Anderson, originally listed as questionable.
Long snapper Cole Marszalek has been upgraded to questionable after showing as doubtful on Wednesday. Linebacker Tavion Wallace and defensive lineman Kalen Edwards, both listed as probable on Wednesday, were not on Thursday’s availability report.
