Kentucky reportedly loses Deputy AD Marc Hill to Big 12 program

Kentucky football sport administrator and Deputy AD Marc Hill’s tenure at the University of Kentucky is reportedly coming to an end after 27 years.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that BYU is set to hire Hill away from Kentucky. BYU boasts significant NIL resources and has a promising future in the current landscape of college athletics. Hill’s addition to the BYU executive team adds decades of administrative knowledge and leadership to the Cougars’ upper brass.
Hill came to Kentucky from the University of Arizona, where he worked as a strength coach for the Wildcats’ 1995-99 basketball and baseball teams. Since, he’s served various roles with the Wildcats, including 12 seasons working as the Director for Strength and Conditioning.
Hill transitioned to an administrative role in 2012 and played a big part in hiring Mark Stoops to Kentucky. In 2019 Hill became Kentucky’s right-hand man to Mitch Barnhart, who retired from his AD role in June. Hill was considered a candidate to take on the AD job in Barnhart’s place, but the program went with an outside hire, J Batt, instead.
