Kentucky running back facing sexual assault allegations, per report
Third-year Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox has been accused of sexual assault in a temporary protective order filed in Fayette County this week, according to a report from The Courier Journal.
The alleged incident occurred on Aug. 20 in Lexington. According to the report, a woman alleged that Wilcox climbed into her bed while she was sleeping and tried to “forcibly” open her legs. Wilcox, who was said to be visiting the woman’s roommate, was informed he was in the wrong room and then attempted to start touching the woman again.
According to the report, Wilcox was asked to leave the woman’s bed and refused. After the woman called the police, Wilcox refused to leave the apartment “for at least 20 minutes.”
A hearing took place Wednesday morning in Lexington, according to The Courier Journal. The next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3.
Wilcox has not been charged with a crime in relation to the alleged assault, according to the report. But he did not play in Kentucky’s season-opening win over Toledo last Saturday. After the game, head coach Mark Stoops said he was unavailable due to “a violation of team rules.”
Stoops said on Monday at his weekly press conference that Wilcox’s status had not changed for this week when the Wildcats (1-0) host No. 20 Ole Miss (1-0) in their SEC opener.
The Courier also reports that Wilcox has several other active cases open against him. He was pulled over for speeding in April when he passed a Kentucky State Police trooper while “appear(ing) to be racing a vehicle” in a 55-mph zone. His arraignment in that case is scheduled for Jan. 5.
Wilcox was also cited earlier this week by the Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control for failure to produce proof of rabies vaccinations for two dogs and for failure to provide proof of a current city license for either dog. He is scheduled to appear in court for that case on Sept. 18.
The redshirt sophomore from Douglasville, Georgia, made 4 starts for the Wildcats last season and led the team in rushing with 590 yards on 92 carries.
In the 2025 opener against Toledo, Nebraska transfer Dante Dowdell ran 14 times for 129 yards and a touchdown. New Mexico State transfer Seth McGowan also ran 18 times for 78 yards and a score.
