Kirby Smart gives injury update on Colbie Young after Ole Miss game
Georgia coach Kirby Smart shared some unfortunate news regarding wide receiver Colbie Young in his postgame press conference after the Ole Miss win.
Smart confirmed that Young suffered a leg fracture in UGA’s victory and is set to miss significant time with the injury.
If Young is forced to miss the remainder of the season, it would be a huge blow for Georgia‘s wide receiver room. Entering Saturday, Young amassed 22 catches for 300 yards on the year. He added 1 catch for 36 yards on Saturday before exiting the game.
Georgia’s tight ends stepped in a big way for its passing game on Saturday. Lawson Luckie totaled 3 touchdowns on the day. Both Luckie and Oscar Delp caught 4+ passes in the win.
As for the receiver position, Georgia will likely be leaning more-heavily on players like Zachariah Branch, Dillon Bell and London Humphreys while Young is out. Noah Thomas could also see his role increase as a result of this injury.
Georgia is idle in Week 9 before facing Florida in Week 10.
