Kirby Smart: Nick Chubb appears to be ‘much quicker’ this fall

Georgia fans might see a “new and improved” Nick Chubb on the football field this fall.

Head coach Kirby Smart said that he’s seeing a “much quicker” Chubb. The Dawgs’ top running back is nearly two years removed from an ugly knee injury suffered in a game against Tennessee.

While Chubb played last season, he wasn’t quite his former explosive self. Georgia is hoping to see that change.

โ€œI thought he was much quicker in the spring. Heโ€™s not running with a limp at all,” Smart said. “His cuts seem faster. He runs with good pad level. I think he runs really hard. He seems to be healthy.โ€

“From 2014 to 2015, Chubb had a string of 13-straight 100-yard games. He eclipsed the 200-yard mark twice during that span and again in the Bulldogsโ€™ 2016 season opener against North Carolina with 32 carries for 232 yards and two scores,” an article from Dawgs 247 stated.
