Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs dominated Florida on Saturday, winning the game 27-8. The Bulldogs were in complete control from the very beginning, and got back to their winning ways after losing their last game against Auburn.
One negative from the game was that star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV had to leave the game because of a third-quarter injury. After the game, Smart provided an update for Robinson, mentioning that there was no structural damage.
“His knee tightened up on him…We don’t really know,” Smart said. “There wasn’t anything structurally wrong. It looked like a Charley Horse or a bruise.”
While he said that they don’t know exactly what is wrong, the fact that he said there isn’t anything structurally wrong is definitely a positive sign moving forward.
Robinson IV is a huge part of the Bulldogs’ defense, as he had his second interception of the year in the game against the Gators. Last season, he had four, but opponents aren’t throwing at him at the same rate.
Having Robinson IV healthy next week will be imperative, as the Bulldogs have a huge road game looming as they travel to Oxford to take on Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss in a game with huge SEC and College Football Playoff implications.
