Kirk Herbstreit goes on passionate rant about Adidas college football uniforms
Kirk Herbstreit made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, and he had a lot to say, only not about what you might think.
Sure, there are huge college football games all over the Week 7 docket, but the longtime ESPN college football analyst didn’t want to scream about any particular game. He wanted to scream about Adidas’s college football uniforms, and he wanted a piece of McAfee while doing it.
McAfee played his whole career for the Indianapolis Colts, so even though he was born in Pennsylvania and played at West Virginia, he’s known as an Indiana guy. And on Saturday, those 7th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers who sport those Adidas uniforms will be traveling to Eugene to play 3rd-ranked Oregon in a Big Ten showdown at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
But forget about the actual game. Herbstreit wanted to let loose on the uniforms.
“The one guy who has a real dilemma on his hands this weekend is none other than Pat McAfee, because he’s got his home squad in their Adidas really bad uniforms,” said Herbstreit, before his voice went up a few levels. “While I’m at it, the Miami uniforms are hideous as well. It’s hideous. Miami’s uniforms are a disgrace. Indiana’s are trash, their uniforms are terrible. The dilemma is that Pat’s got his home team, those Hoosiers, against (Oregon head coach) Dan Lanning, you got a real, real, real problem on your hands. It’s awful. Awful.”
Now, when McAfee gently responded by talking about Adidas wanting to be involved in college football as much as possible, Herbstreit had a reply ready.
“I don’t mind them getting involved. It’s just the uniforms. They need to be redone. They’re terrible. It’s a bad look,” Herbstreit said.
